Oneself

Thoughts become things. The power of thought brings forth the reality of our external perception and attitudes about the world. It’s in those moments of fear and doubt where we become our own worst enemy. It is, also, in those moments where our most defining moments break us out of our predetermined notions of ourselves.  Awaken your soul to your own true self and be the best version of self.  Shine and fly free, unbounded by your own demise.
Life is life, but you have a choice of what you bring into your life. Feed your world with love. One step closer each day… freedom. Live with passion.. with meaning, purpose and love.

Reflections- What do you want to be when you grow up?

As I embark on a new journey, I think back at where I was a year ago...the people in my life and the road we traveled.

I remember all the people who helped me get to this point. I decided to share a email I wrote to my old company before I left.

Dear friends,

As some of you may know, my last day at BlueArc is Tuesday, March 6.  I wanted to thank you all of you for being a part of my life over the last 5.5 years.  You were my teachers, mentors, friends, and most importantly, my family.  It was the sales' team tradition to have a storytelling night at kick off, but since I won't be there this year, I wanted to share mine.

I remember the phone call I got from Tony, the day I had accepted my position here at BlueArc.  He said, "This is your Captain. Captain Sunshine.  We are pleased to have you on board. Are you ready to report to duty?" I said, "Yes!"

From that moment on, I knew I was embarking on a journey that would be AMAZING!  I was ready to take on whatever was before me.  How can one go wrong with someone named Captain Sunshine! =)

As I started working with the team, there was this magic energy in the air that could always fill up a room with excitement.  Even when things got heavy and difficult at times, we worked together to make sure we held everything together.  We had each other. There's been people who came and gone, but those who stuck around held a belief that was stronger than gold... We believed in BlueArc and the culture we created. We were excited!

I remember when Chris came on board and we were having our first one-on-one. He asked me, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"  That question has stayed with me even until today. As much as we were talking about my job at BlueArc, being here was more than earning a paycheck and walking to starbucks with my friends every morning. I learned a lot about myself and how I've grown to be the person I am today. I know that BlueArc has had a big impact in my life so I wanted to thank all of you for being there for me.  Although, most of the team I support was remote and we saw each other once a year, it always felt like a warm reunion when we did and I attribute that to the connection and respect we had for each other.

BlueCrew, you are most talented, driven individuals I have ever met in my life. Thank you for being my teachers... for showing me the very essence of the human spirit and heart.  You showed me that with meaning, you really can achieve everything you ever wanted. You taught me that principles such as honesty, trust and respect rings true no matter where you live in the world, how you grew up or your background.  You taught me about life and definitely, what I wanted to be when I grow up.

Thank you for your sweet smiles and happy emails. Even allowing me to walk through the BlueArc doors every morning and say to Darlene, "Morning mom."  Even through tough times, everyone smiled and did their best to be there for one other because we've had to overcome a lot of adversity to be where we are today.

I'm sorry I can't be there with you all as you continue your journey at Hitachi. It's not my path right now.  I hope you understand. Although, we won't have the same "BlueArc, apart of Hitachi Data system" name to fall under the same umbrella, I wanted to say see you soon, my friend. This valley and world is very small.  I will see you soon... Please do keep in touch.

If you are ever in the beautiful city of San Francisco and have time for some starbucks ( I love my Chai tea lattes), I would love to hear about your great adventures and how you are conquering each day with determination and strength.

I think I overstepped my 5 mins allocated storytelling time.  But, I just wanted to give you my sincere thanks... for everything. I will never be the same.   Appreciate your time!

Have a wonderful day!

Cheers,
Thuy

Soul Mate

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master...”

Clarity

Sun shines through the midst of the ocean breeze, as the clouds part to share a glimpse of the clear blue sky.  Swirls of emotions flow like the wind, as the world continues to move forward. As you stand still in that snapshot, that moment, clarity is found.

As with all matters of the heart, it starts from within.  It’s in those moments when the clouds break, the sun shines through and a glimpse of clarity shines bright. It’s there. Look for it.

Happy Monday!

Crashing Waves

The water crashes to shore, the movement unpredictable, constant and in motion. Standing still, the resistence is felt. With movement, the body rests and balance is felt. Silent contemplation and introspection cultivates.

Life becomes calm, centered and clarity arrives.  Ask the right questions and the universe will give you an answer that lies deeply in your heart.

Happy Friday!
